His work includes publications in national and international books and journals, in relation to the conformation of the Chilean State, the development of the workers’ popular movement and the social- political crises of the XX century.

The scientific committee of the V Latin American Congress of Mathematicians recognized professor Navas for his scientific contribution to the region in areas like geometry, dynamical systems, algebra and group theory. The activity was organized by the Unión Matemática de América Latina y el Caribe (UMALCA) and it was held in Barranquilla, Colombia.

La académica Carolina Aliaga, del Departamento de Ciencias del Ambiente de la Facultad de Química y Biología, fue escogida por sus pares en la última reunión de la sociedad científica internacional. “Es un reconocimiento a la Universidad y al trabajo que se ha realizado desde hace mucho tiempo acá, desde donde nace la fotoquímica para nuestra región y desde donde se han formado varias generaciones en el área”, manifestó la profesional.
Carolina Aliaga, professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of Universidad de Santiago was appointed representative in Latin America by her peers during the last meeting of the Inter-American Photochemical Society. “It is a recognition for the work we have done at the university, the place of birth of Photochemistry in our continent, where several generations have been trained in this field,” she said.
Physical Review Letters (PRL) editará importantes avances del Dr. Felipe Herrera respecto al control de reacciones químicas usando óptica cuántica. El académico explica que, en términos simples, “comprobamos que esas reacciones o transferencias de electrones se pueden acelerar o reducir”.

In simple terms, Dr Herrera, researcher at Universidad de Santiago, explains that they proved that these reactions or electron transfers can be accelerated or reduced.
Buscar trazos y señales de la existencia de partículas nuevas en observaciones cosmológicas y experimentos de laboratorio es lo que realizará la Dra.
