Usach National Prize Winner Shortlisted for Global Energy Prize

The University of Santiago, Chile (Usach) proudly announces that Dr. José Zagal, a distinguished professor in its Faculty of Chemistry and Biology and recipient of the 2024 National Prize for Natural Sciences, is among the fifteen finalists for the 2025 Global Energy Prize. This prominent international award sees Dr. Zagal as the only Latin American representative at this stage of the competition.

The University of Santiago de Chile will participate in Congreso Futuro, an event that will take place from Monday, January 13 to Saturday, January 18 at the CEINA Cultural Center and other facilities in various regions of the country.

Dr. José Zagal Moya, National Prize in Natural Sciences 2024 and member of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, will give a presentation entitled “The role of chemistry in sustainable energy” on Thursday 16, at 3:00 p.m., in the session called “Energy, sustenance for growth.”
