The Universidad de Santiago de Chile counts on a Central Library and 20 specialized libraries. They cover the most specific needs of their users.
The Central Library handles the collections of books, theses, documents and journals that are purchased for the libraries; besides, it has data bases of specialized journals and electronic books. You can access all these resources from any computer connected to the Institutional Network or directly from the equipments available for those purposes, such as the Virtual Library in the Central Library.
On the web page of the Central Library, the latest news about information and services appear periodically: http://www.biblioteca.usach.cl
Guidance to access the services of the Automated Catalog and the activation of the magnetic university card as a library card.
Information about the Library and the information services online, courses about the use of the data bases and existing information sources.
Home Loan of Bibliographic Material, per hours and inter-libraries.
Reading Rooms, where the students can study individually or in groups, and Silent Study Rooms for those who require quiet to prepare their degree works.
Services to disabled students that provide them facilities to access a loan with the help of a classmate who can request the books under his/her name presenting his/her card to avoid the movements of those students who have more mobility difficulties. These students can request distance services and an extension of the loan terms depending on the availability of the bibliographic material.
